Pain in the hip can occur due to many causes in sports injury, bursitis/tendonitis and arthritis.
The hip is examined to see if it is a muscular, joint, ligament or tendon problem.
Treatment can include:
- Hands-on treatment, including soft tissue techniques/massage and joint mobilisation
- Hip stretches to improve movement
- Strengthening exercises to assist rehabilitation and prevent further injury
- Techniques to reduce pain and swelling
- Strapping if required
