Damian Griffin

With over 30 years of experience, Damian’s primary goal is to deliver individualised, high quality physiotherapy to ensure that all of his clients recover from their injuries and become pain free. As per the APA motto, he aims for his clients to 'Move Well, Stay well'.

Damian graduated in 1982 from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. After general training in both hospital and private practice physiotherapy in Queensland he travelled to the UK and worked in various hospitals including The London Independent Hospital.

​

Upon returning to Australia he spent 10 years as Director of Caloundra Hospital Physiotherapy Department. In 2001 he moved his family to Brisbane and commenced private practice as owner of Kenmore Physiotherapy.

Continuously updating his expertise, Damian has completed level 1 and level 2 Sports Physiotherapy courses as well as numerous specialist courses in Management and updates on shoulder therapy, neck pain management, back pain including The McKenzie method and The Mulligan method as well as updates regarding management of the hip, knee, ankle, elbow and wrist problems and strapping and taping.

With over 30 years experience, Damian practices a hands-on approach which is tailored to the individual client. This can be both gentle and/or strong depending on the individual medical needs and the client preference. Following individualised assessment Damian will address each client’s problem using a variety of techniques which can include manual therapy, massage, stretching techniques, spinal mobilisation, exercise and strengthening programmes with the goals of improvement of function, prevention of recurrence and pain relief.

 

Outside of work, Damian has a keen interest in all sports including cricket and rugby. He keeps fit surfing and walking and loves to follow current affairs.
